Melaza en Mannheim

  • La película “Melaza”, de Carlos Lechuga, se hizo el pasado domingo con el premio Revelación del Año / Newcomer of the Year, principal galardón del Festival de Mannheim, en Alemania.

    El cineasta ha llegado al mundo de los largometrajes por todo lo alto, logrando el reconocimiento de grandes conocedores del sector; el director húngaro István Szabó, el realizador chileno Matías Bize y la actriz y directora finlandesa Kirsi Liimatainen fueron los encargados de tomar la decisión.

    Desde inicios de septiembre, el director cubano Carlos Lechuga viene haciendo un recorrido por festivales internacionales con su película Melaza ganando a su paso reconocimiento de la crítica, el público y los jurados.

    Melaza se llevó el Premio del Jurado para Operas Primas en el Vancouver Latin American Film Festival. También se llevó el Premio de Mejor Largometraje de Ficción del Trinidad & Tobago Film Festival, participó del Festival Biarritz Amérique Latine y fue el film de inauguración del Festival Latino de Seattle.

    Antes del Premio de Mannheim, Melaza ya había sido escogida la mejor película de un director emergente en el New England Festival of Ibero American Cinema (NEFIAC), organizado por la Universidad de Yale.

    La película durante su recorrido por festivales, pasó por el Chicago International Film Festival, Santa Barbara, la prestigiosa Mostra de São Paulo y el Festival de Tessalonika.

  • Melaza just won the “Newcomer of the Year”, Main Award of International Filmfestival Mannheim-Heidelberg!

    The jury was composed by Oscar wining Hungarian director István Szabó (President), multi awarded Chilean director Matias Bize, and actress / director Kirsi Liimatainen.

    These are the word of the jury:

    “ We would like to give the Main Award of Mannheim Film Festival to the film “Melaza” – “Molasses” for the enormous courage to tell a really important message clear and simple, like a glass of water, showing emotional but yet in distant images the relationship between the characters with strong significant images without being didactic.”

    Since early September, the Cuban director Carlos Lechuga has been making a tour of international festivals with his film Melaza (Molasses) receiving critical acclaim, and the recognition of both audiences and juri members around the world.

    Previously to the Mannheim prestigious award, Melaza had won the Jury Prize FIRST TIME DIRECTORS at the Vancouver Latin American Film Festival. He also won the Best Narrative Feature at the Trinidad & Tobago Film Festival, participated Amérique Latine Biarritz Festival and was the opening film of the Seattle Latino Film Festival Latino.

    Molasses was also chosen the Best Film by an Emerging filmmaker by a at the New England Festival of Ibero American Cinema ( NEFIAC ) organized by Yale University .

    The film also participated of the Chicago International Film Festival, Santa Barbara, the prestigious Mostra de São Paulo and Tessalonika Film Festival.

  • O filme “Melaza”, de Carlos Lechuga ganhou no último domingo o Prêmio / Newcomer of the Year , prêmio máximo do Festival de Mannheim.

    O cineasta entrou para o mundo dos festivais em grande estilo, fazendo o reconhecimento de grandes nomes da indústria, como o diretor húngaro István Szabó, o chileno diretor Matias Bize atriz e finlandês e diretor Kirsi Liimatainen, membros do júri de Mannheim.

    Desde começo de setembro, o diretor cubano Carlos Lechuga vem fazendo um muito bem sucedido roteiro por festivais internacionais com seu filme Melaza ganhando reconhecimento da crítica especializada, do público e certamente dos júris.

    Melaza tinha levado o Prêmio do Júri de Novos Diretores no Vancouver Latin American Film Festival. Também emplacou o Prêmio de Melhor Longa-metragem de Ficção do Trinidad & Tobago Film Festival, participou do Festival Biarritz Amérique Latine e foi o filme de abertura do Festival Latino de Seattle.

    Previamente ao Prêmio de Mannheim, Melaza tinha sido escolhida como o melhor filme de um diretor estreante no New England Festival of Ibero American Cinema (NEFIAC) organizado pela Universidade de Yale.

    O filme ao longo do seu roteiro de festivais, passou pelo Chicago International Film Festival, Santa Barbara, a prestigiosa Mostra de São Paulo e o Festival de Tessalonika.
